I am a true believer in the human potential for transformation and growth. As a clinical social worker, I get to witness people becoming bigger versions of themselves. The therapeutic and artistic processes are the same: explore the inner world and trust that bringing the truth into view will bring about growth. I am always afraid of what will result if I am exposed, but I’ve learned to have courage about what results.
My paintings are portraits of myself and the people closest to me. I draw on archetypal imagery and art history to examine each person closely, and reveal what I see within them.
